Baby Sock Snowman Ornament

Hi Ya'll - I can't believe it's only 2 days until Christmas! I wanted to share a very quick last minute craft/gift idea. I was inspired by something I saw in a 30+ year-old book that I picked up at a thrift store. It's a cute little snowman ornament made from a baby sock! Hope you like it - This is my first tutorial, so let me know what you think.

Merry Christmas!

Baby Sock Snowman Ornament:

What you need:
1 Baby Sock with cuff (got mine at the $ Store)
Poly-Fill Stuffing
Scissors
Embroidery Thread (any color - I used brownish-gold)
Needle
Scrap of Fabric
Embellishments (I used beads and a pom-pom)
Glue Gun & Glue Stick

Step 1: Assemble materials.

Step 2: Unroll the cuff of the baby sock and stuff the sock tightly with Poly-Fill up to the seam where the cuff starts. It's ok if it's a bit lumpy at this point.

Step 3: Cut a length of embroidery thread (I used the full 6 thread thickness) and tie a double knot as tight as you can around the seam where the cuff starts. Trim off thread ends close to knot. Tie another length of embroidery thread around the middle of the stuffed part, again as tight as you can. This will make the snowman's head and body. (The pic below is before I cut off my thread ends.)

Step 4: Flip the sock cuff down over the 'head' to form the snowman's hat. Cut a strip of scrap fabric and tie it around the 'neck' for a scarf.

Step 5: Add your embellishments using hot glue (or sew them on if you like) - I used a small pom-pom for the top of the hat and beads for the eyes, nose, and mouth. Tiny buttons would be great too! Use the needle and a length of embroidery thread to make a hanger. And here he is...Isn't he cute? :)
